All about Seattle food and lifestyle

Seattle is a dynamic, urban city surrounded by unmatched natural beauty, lots of food options, cultural activities, and much more just waiting to be explored.

Seattle is a bustling place that thrives with industrial, commercial, and cultural activity around the clock. Its waters teem with great oceangoing ships, its streets with automobiles, its rail lines with transcontinental freighters and passenger trains, and its skies with aircraft of every description. Although the city’s image is of a financial and commercial center, its people place great value on the arts, literature, sports, and other cultural activities; it boasts large arenas, multistory bookshops, dozens of museums and galleries, and countless examples of public art.

In this blog series, I'll be exploring all the food options, parks, shopping places(cheap or expensive), hotels, Airbnb, books, cultural aaa11art places, and in short words ALL ABOUT SEATTLE.

Follow my blog posts and you'll be getting enough knowledge about where to go and spend money or what food choices should you opt for.

Let's begin my blog with all food restaurants or places I have visited so far in Seattle. All the good and bad times I have experienced while exploring food.

1) Sugar Bakery

Lots of yummy, fresh choices at Sugar Bakery & Cafe!

Location: 110 REPUBLICAN ST, QUEEN ANNE, SEATTLE

We popped in this cute bakery shop before we left town to get some coffee and treat. Everything looked very fresh and clean. I ordered Salted Caramel croissant and chai tea. My tea was amazing and the croissant was very tasty, light, and fluffy. Husband ordered coffee and Lavender shortbread. His coffee was good and the bread was buttery and crumbly, but not too sweet. It was a covid friendly bakery and allow few customers inside at a time. No inside dining when we visited last week. There was limited seating outside for people to sit and wait. Service was typical average and it was a busy time when we dropped by.

2) Pink Door Italian restaurant

LOCATION:

1919 Post Alley,

Seattle, WA 98101, Virginia St & Stewart St, Downtown

Yummy Italian food with peaceful and serene ambiance at Pink Door Italian restaurant

This place's entrance is kind of hidden in the alley. Came here on a beautiful Saturday with a group of girlfriends. We had a hard time finding this place around the Pike Place Market but the lady on the phone was very patient and kind in guiding us to the right place. We ended up being 10-15 minutes late for our reservation but they still had our tables reserved. Reservations fill up quickly so make it in advance! It was all outdoor seating in a patio area and the weather was nice. We ordered their infamous lasagna with a side of meatballs and Linguine Alle Vongole. The lasagna was amazing! That was the best lasagna I've ever had along with the meatballs. The linguine surprisingly came with a lot of clams. Service was friendly, Covid conscious (masks until seated and then required during server visit). Beautiful view, excellent food, and service.

3) Lark

Located in:

Central Agency Building

952 E Seneca St

Seattle, WA 98122

Broadway Ct & 10th Ave

First Hill

Enjoyed our anniversary dinner at the Lark although portions were small.

We visited Lark to celebrate our anniversary dinner. The ambiance was nice. We came around 6 pm when it was not extremely busy. We pre-booked our table on phone. They have a Lovely romantic setting with a terrific wine list and varied dining options. We ordered the house bread with smoked lardo, seared foie gras, Hamachi Crudo with fennel, Squid ink mantilla, Cocoa Canarese, and Chocolate madeleines for dessert. I enjoyed the squid ink mantilla. I loved the presentation and the lemon flavor made the mantilla less rich. Coca Canarese was decent considering it was my first time eating venison. The foie gras was okay, but the small chunks of cornbread in it tasted good. Overall, the dishes are carefully prepared and unusual, but a bit on the small side. They should increase their portions.

4) Lady Jaye

Location:

4523 California Ave SW

Seattle, WA 98116

Alaska St & Oregon St

Junction

Best Drinks ever, but the food was just ok

We went to Lady Jaye on a Sunday morning for their brunch. I had heard about this restaurant from word of mouth and I wanted to try it out. My hubby and I came with another couple. The spot was cozy but also nice. Stringed lights, pretty plants...it was our first Covid outing and I appreciated being outside in what felt like somebody's nice backyard. This place has a really good cocktail menu. A nice bar in West Seattle. The drinks are amazing but the food is okay. We ordered the Strawberry Manilow and Holy Mountain. Each of these drinks was mind-blowing delicious. They do have a full-sized bar with a lot of rare or hard-to-find liquor as well. We ordered the chicken wings and were not impressed with it. Staff wears masks. There is room for social distancing. Parking on the street or the public lot outback. The bathroom was clean. Loads of seating, the staff is friendly, service is great. Highly recommend stopping by for drinks.

5) Tsukushinbo A Japanese Cuisine

Located in:

H T Kubota Building

515 S Main St

Seattle, WA 98104

S 6th Ave & S 5th Ave

Japantown, Chinatown International District

Love this place. Prices seemed high but the portions are good, quality is superb.

Came here with my partner for dinner to check it out. I made a reservation a couple of days in advance, and they don't do online reservations, just by phone so call any day after 4 o clock to try and make reservations. The interior was quaint, cozy, and had a certain charm to it. We ordered a chirashi bowl, nigiri, and show roll. Really impressed with their sushi. We loved the show roll, definitely good for someone who likes fried goodness with eel sauce. The nigiri was amazing, so beautifully presented, and tasted amazing as well. We also had a cocktail and a really good okonomiyaki omelet. I was impressed with the quality of the food, and I think it's worth it for the price point.
We opted for takeout due to COVID. All their packaging is secure, which is appreciated. Now they are open for limited capacity for dining in as well.

These are the few places I visited with my family and friends. I'll keep on writing more and different places to visit in Seattle.
